A little off my usual posts, however I have to share this link:

Beautiful Hollyhocks

March 21st, 2009

I am so proud of the students in my Hollyhocks class.  I have photos of some of their completed projects.  Hollyhocks is a machine needle felted project, including lots of extras.  It is beaded, felted from both sides, and has a nifty  way to do your flower cutting.  (If you were in one of my classes, you know the secret.)  Great job on those borders and your finishing touches.

I couldn’t be more proud of these floral arrangements, they are fabulous, and even better, they are Finished!¬† Absolutely great work ladies!¬† If you are still working on yours, it’s not too late.¬† Send me a photo of this or any felting or doll project you have finished.¬† I love to see completed projects!

Recent Classes

March 8th, 2009

I’m so far behind in my posts.¬† I guess blogging hasn’t become a high priority for me.¬† I’d rather be teaching classes, or at home making samples for new classes.¬†

Below¬†are some¬† photos of the classes I¬†recently taught in South Carolina.¬† It was such a great trip, as usual.¬† I started off my visit by doing a demo at the Myrtle Beach Quilt Gala.¬† I had a mini trunk show with some hands on time for the participants on the Babylock Embellisher.¬† It’s so hard for me to stay on track with my planned speech.¬† Once I start talking about needle felting, I just have to share everything I know.¬†¬†I absolutely love machine needle felting!¬†¬†¬†I met so many wonderful people who¬†were equally excited to learn my style of needle felting.¬†

I was so pleased to see that Meg F.¬† won¬†First¬†¬†Place for her needle felted Iris Garden quilt, she took in my class.¬† That was the one day I didn’t have my camera with me.¬† I hope Meg will send me a photo so I can add it here and show you her beautiful quilt.¬† That was very exciting.¬† You can soon see the original on my website, soon.¬†¬†

Following the show in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, I taught classes at Accent Sewing in Murrells Inlet.  Following are some photos of my Hollyhock class.  The ladies did a wonderful job on their wall hangings.  They should all be very proud of their beautiful floral wall hangings.  Looks like they are all just about finished.

Journal Cover Class

December 15th, 2008

Here is one of my very talented needle felting students.  She made this wonderful journal cover last month in class.  Then went home and added all the extra embellishments to make it sparkle.  Great job Pat!

Christmas Giving

December 14th, 2008

This past Saturday my little sewing group met for our annual Christmas bag filling.¬† We had a great time and filled 103 bags of toiletries and other items, to be distributed to people in need.¬† We are just a small group of about 6 people at any one time.¬† We have been meeting for over 9 years, 3 times a month, and have made almost 1000 bags full of all kinds of goodies.¬† We have also managed to make hundreds of other items like quilts, stuffed bears, dolls, Alzheimer’s aprons, neck coolers for¬†our Military, and hundreds of toboggans. (to you northerners, that’s a snow hat)¬† Yes, being¬†originally from the north, at first I thought it was a snow sled.¬† What was I thinking?¬†

We always have a wonderful time sharing stories, food, and becoming life long friends.

I’m so proud of our little group and what we have accomplished.¬† If you are thinking of starting a group in your area, please contact me.¬† I have loads of information I can pass along.¬†¬†I may have extra¬†start up fabrics available from time to time and more¬†information about the items we have made.

Happy Thanksgiving

November 24th, 2008

I just got back from another wonderful week of teaching¬†a few¬†classes in South Carolina.¬† I taught my Beach Scene journal cover class in Machine Needle Felting.¬† The ladies made some beautiful¬† Journal Covers and have ideas for their next one and the one after that.¬† Once the journals were needle felted, the fun didn’t stop, until shells, miniature sand dollars and starfish were added.¬† Absolutely beautiful.¬† I hope to have some photos to post here soon.¬† So much creative energy.¬† We all had a great time.¬†

I also had a Fairy Doll class.¬† This is a favorite class of mine.¬† It is always great to see the different directions students will go once the main doll has been completed.¬† Even though everyone starts out the same, all the little faces are different.¬† All with sparkle and wonderful expressions.¬† Dozens of different hair, wing and clothing ideas were floating around.¬† I’m very anxious to see some photos of¬†the finished creations!¬†

Thanksgiving is upon us in just a few days.  Time to put the machine away for just a little while and prepare for the feast.         Happy Thanksgiving to all.  Many Blessings to you and your families.

October Classes

Here is a look at the Isabella Needle Felted Handbag Class I had in October at Accent Sewing in Murrells Inlet SC.  A wonderful time creating a handbag with a altered face stamp inserted.
