Maximum 20 students with adequate working space.
Extra fee for each additional student.

Beauty Among the Thorns - Wall Hanging Size

Skill Level - Intermediate
This award winning wall hanging includes several skill building techniques. The floral and leaf blocks are all fused and machine appliqued. Blocks are set in an offset setting. The outside border uses a strip insertion method. This a great border to add to those quilts that cry out for an nontraditional finish. Learn how to make piping and add it on before attaching the binding strip. It is completed with loads of beads to add that finishing sparkle. Machine quilted.
Foundation Floral Quilt

This class is fabulous for all skill levels. It is especially great for beginners because it has no complicated color matching, no seams to match. This quilt also is wonderful for using up bits and pieces from other projects or that stash you have been saving. Freedom to have fun and enjoy quilt making with immediate results without the pressure.
Needle Felting Workshops
Please note that all of my Machine Needle Felting Workshops are for All Skill Levels. I teach in such a manner that even the beginning needle felter should be able to accomplish each project. No previous needle felting experience is needed, however, basic sewing machine skills are needed for construction. Needle felting is So Much Fun !!

At The Beach - Wall Art
Duration - 1 Day
Skill Level - All Skill Levels
Each student will bring a photo of their favorite beach scene. Using machine needle felting techniques we will create individual beach scenes. Starting with a base of duck cloth, students will use several textural fabrics and fibers to create a lucious beach scene. Finish with miniature shells and other beach memorabelia to create a work of art.
Fall Splendor - Sweatshirt Jacket
Duration - 1 1/2days
Skill Level - All Skill Levels
Begin with a sweatshirt larger than your regular size. Use a sweatshirt 2 Sizes larger if you want a really roomy jacket. First we will do some deconstruction. Add seam binding to finish the edges and you will have the beginning of the jacket base. Learn how to make a sheet of new fabric out of wool, silks and velvets and other textures using needle felting techniques. Learn how to cut out leaf shapes and add embellishing tricks to make the leaves more realistic. A few more finishing touches and your jacket is done. The jacket shown is done on a brown base with falling leaves. Sequins, beads and hook and eye closure have also been added.
Go Green - Handbag

Using an all over color base, add vines and leaves before adding that blast of color with the silk fabric flowers. Accent with a string of beads for the closure. Learn my techniques for making a felted strap and hand painted buckles to complete the eye catching art bag.
Hollyhocks - Wall Hanging

This award winning wall hanging has a rich old world look. Learn needle felting techniques working from the top side and reverse side for different textures. Many different fabrics and fibers are used in Hollyhocks to create the beautiful flowers and 3-dimensional stems. Wonderfully fun and creative. Add the unique felted border. Embellish with fabulous beads to complete the look.
Journal Covers

Making a journal cover is a wonderful way to learn the technique used in Machine Needle Felting. This journal cover begins with a duck cloth base. With the addition of silks, velvets, satins, and other great textures, a beach scene is revealed. Learn about the fabrics and fibers that will work and what won't work on this easy project for the beginning needle felter. Finish the underwater scene with embellishing items to replicate coral, seaweed, and more underwater vegitation and sealife. This workshop is also available in a freeform artstyle cover.
Monique - Red handbag
Duration - 1 1/2 day
Skill Level - All Skill Levels
This is a mosaic style base. Using all one color or two making a base and free motion stitching to form the handbag base. Paint your own coordinating laces and trims. Construct the handbag with a silk lining and a pocket. Finish the closure with a hand beaded button taught in class. Sample is done in red, however several colors are available.
Wear Your Art - Scarf
Duration - 1/2 Day
Skill Level - All Skill Levels
This class uses soft and silky rovings, bits of wonderful ribbons, trims and fibers to create a one of a kind scarf. This scarf can be made light airy for warmer climates, or heavier for colder weather. Wonderfully fun and easy. A variety of colors are available.
Doll Workshops
Cat Dancer
Duration - 2 Days
Skill Level - Intermediate
The Cat Dancer is made by using the CAT DANCER pattern by Magic Threads. Cat Dancer is a fabulous doll to embellish and make a one of a kind creation. In this very special class, students will learn face painting techniques, stuffing tricks, assembly using hinged arms and legs, and mane making techniques. Several embellishing techniques are also used on the cats, such as beading, painting, adding silk flowers, silk ribbon embroidery, stamping and much more. Although the skill level is intermediate, all skill levels may participate in this class. Any prior doll making experience is helpful.
Garden Fairy
Duration - 1 Day
Skill Level - Beginner
The Garden Fairy doll is made from the Blossom and Twig pattern by Magic Threads. This is an absolutely wonderful doll for all skill levels to make, including beginners. Over the years I have added several extra touches my own fairy dolls and share my secrets in class to add sparkle and shine. Students will learn easy doll making skills, with basic face sculpting and coloration, hair making techniques, as well as clothing ideas. This is the class for everyone who ever wanted to try making a doll.
